Rodrigo Tarquino
Vicepresidente Creativo, Weber Shandwick México

Rodrigo Tarquino is a Colombian multidisciplinary creative/director, passionate about public relations, innovation, and the digital world. He began his career in 2002 at Leo Burnett Colombia, where he worked for clients such as Banco Davivienda and Toyota. In February 2005, he joined DDB Colombia, where he earned the first Gold (London Awards) for DDB Colombia.

In 2006, Tarquino joined Mullen Lowe / SSP3, and under the supervision of José Miguel Sokoloff (GCC), he was recognized for the “Heroes” Campaign for Pilsen AB inBev – Gran EFFIE Colombia.

In 2007, he returned to Leo Burnett Colombia, and in early 2009, he traveled to Madrid to work at Ignition K (Leo España), an agency led by Miguel Ángel Furones.

In 2010, he was promoted to General Creative Director of Publicis Colombia, responsible for the creativity for brands such as Renault, Nestlé, Diners Club, Banco Falabella, and Harley Davidson. In 2015, Publicis Colombia was chosen as the best agency in Colombia at the El Dorado Festival (Colombian creative festival). Additionally, they won their first Lion at Cannes Lions, the only gold in their history, and the first GP for Publicis Ibero-America at El Ojo de Iberoamérica.

During 2016, Publicis Colombia continued reaping historic awards: Best of Discipline & Gold at One Show, Yellow Pencil at D&AD, and GP at the New York Festival. That year marked a milestone for the Publicis network globally.

In 2017, Tarquino joined DDB Colombia as General Creative Director at DDB Medellín. Under his leadership, the agency won more than 15 new clients and began a period of digital transformation and integration, doubling its office operation and establishing itself as the most important agency in the city.

In 2022, Tarquino began a new phase as Creative VP at Weber Shandwick / McCann World Group Mexico, where integration and teamwork are fundamental to developing high-level creativity for both local and regional clients.

During 2023, he developed the first campaign in the country to mix AI with fake news and created “The Museum of Lies” for Animal Político. This campaign was recognized at Cannes Lions, Sabre Awards Global/Latam, Effie Latam, Effie Mexico, Ojo de Iberoamérica, and Círculo Creativo Mexico, becoming Weber Shandwick Mexico’s most awarded case in recent years.

Since joining Weber Shandwick / McCann he has worked for important local and regional clients such as: FedEx, Oppo, ExxonMobil, L’Oréal, Comex, Mastercard, Animal Político.

Rodrigo Tarquino has served as a jury member at several prestigious advertising festivals worldwide, including El Ojo de Iberoamérica (Argentina) from 2022 to 2010, Grand Jury at the New York Festival (USA) in 2021, Grand Jury Latam at the AME Awards (USA) in 2021/2020,

Jury President for Promo & Act in Lisbon (Portugal) in 2016, Jury at Effie Colombia from 2018 to 2010, El Sol (Spain) in 2013, and the Wave Festival (Brazil) in 2012.
